Something that makes me stand out as a Licensed Massage Therapist is client education. I love to empower people with the knowledge to keep themselves well.
I will not just relax your muscles and soothe your nervous system. Your massage may be followed by me showing you stretches to help you with your problem areas. For example, nearly everyone I meet learns the Doorway Stretch from me at some point, to reduce shoulder tension. I might suggest you ice a sore area.
I will certainly encourage you to drink more water after a massage.
Perhaps we’ll discover your neck hurts because of your desk setup at work, and maybe we’ll come to the conclusion together that you need to move the monitor so it is centered.
Or I may encourage you to add a little walking to your daily routine to keep good circulation flowing through muscles and joints.
We will work together to find what will help you experience and maintain relief and comfort after your massage, and we can build with a cumulative effect from one treatment to the next, especially if you show up for yourself and your self care.
